Minji Ro

As the COO of Elites Optimizations Services, Minji is uniquely qualified to oversee all operations, including technology, to develop and provide outstanding products for the professional athlete community, while also contributing to society-at-large.

EOS allows Minji to utilize her first-hand experience with transitioning from one career path to another. Prior to EOS, Minji worked on Wall Street for 12 years at Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs within sales and trading in equity derivatives, and at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as an analyst in investment banking.

For Minji, EOS combines her love of sports and business acumen with a strong passion to improve the working environment for women and the LGBTQ community. While at Goldman, Minji served as Co-chair for Pride month and also managed all aspects of the Women’s Video Conference Series, a mentoring program for junior women, which was later brought over to Deutsche Bank. At Deutsche, she was the point person for an innovative LGBTQ recruiting contest with over 70 teams of undergraduate student participants partnering with LGBTQ not-for-profit organizations. Minji was recognized as being among the top 5% of performers in the Vice President population at Deutsche, while also serving on the dbPride Steering Committee and the Northwestern recruiting team.

Minji’s interest in improving the professional sports business began early on and continues to grow. At Northwestern University, Minji authored a senior thesis entitled, “NBA vs WNBA: The Pay Disparity in Professional Basketball.” She was also the first paid intern at the WNBA’s Chicago Sky and eventually received a full-time offer to be the Sky’s Manager of Finance and Operations. Currently, Minji chairs the Associate Board for Athlete Ally, whose mission is to end homophobia and transphobia in sport and to encourage and enable the athletic community to champion the cause of LGBTQ equality.

Minji lives in New York City with her wife, Phillippa, and their miniature schnauzer, Harry. While Minji regularly plays basketball and is the former Commissioner and board member for the New York City Gay Basketball League, Phillippa is a competitive triathlete who has completed several marathons, including Chicago, Paris, and New York.
